Music Classes
Class Schedule: 30 minute classes once per week from September through May or June.
Classes for 2-3 years olds include movement activities, finger plays, and lullabies. These classes use instruments such as sticks, bells, drums and shakers.
Classes for 4-6 year olds teach rhythm notation with flashcards, ear training, listening skills, instrument families and listening to different composers. In addition to instruments listed above, these children play maracas, tambourines, sand blocks, xylophones and drums and take turns conducting.
Enrollment Options
- Your child can attend the Musical Kids class at their daycare or preschool.
- Your child can attend family music classes at the following locations:
- Boise: Esther Simplot Performing Arts Academy, 9th & Myrtle
- Nampa: Messiah Lutheran Church
- Meridian: Meridian Montessori, corner of Black Cat and Ustick
- Kuna: My Place Preschool at Kuna Nazarene Church, 1281 W Avalon
About The Teachers
All teachers employed by Musical Kids have a college degree in music or education and are active in community music activities.
Director Kristin Sample is nationally certified by the Music Teachers National Association and the Idaho State Board of Education. She belongs to the Early Childhood Music & Movement Association and is past president of both the local and state Idaho Music Teachers Association. She holds a B.A. in Piano Performance and Music Education from College of Idaho. Kristin has completed multiple national trainings in early childhood music and participated in many national music conventions. She is partnered with the Boise Philharmonic to create early childhood music classes of excellence.
